Aftab-e kalout (*)
Tour & Travel Co, with the Registration Number 240474 was
established in 1997 based on the extensive, in–depth
knowledge, vast experiences and passion of its founders
for the natural beauties and culture of Iran.. These
experiences were gained through their over 15 years
extensive travels to the various regions of Iran,
organizing cultural and nature-walk tours, conducting
cultural research, membership in mountaineering clubs and
completing specialized mountaineering and eco-tourism
courses.
Vision:
To establish a professional eco-cultural tour and travel
company in Iran, which will enable people from all
around the world to discover the natural beauties of
this country and have an opportunity to get introduced
and familiarized with the varied cultures, mythology and
history of this ancient land.

Our Tours
At the beginning the
Aftab-e Kalout’s tours and services were confined mostly
to conducting grassroots mountaineering and hiking tours,
tours through the desert and the woodlands, mountain
biking and visits to national parks and nature reserves.
Recently, with the help of various professionals we have
added historical and cultural-site tours to our range of
services. In certain packages we also have combination
natural-cultural tours available to our clients.
Also with our vast
experience and in-depth knowledge of the country we are
able to offer tailor-made tours to parties with specific
interests
Since its inception
Aftab-e Kalout has conducted hundreds of nature and
culture tours in Iran, both to Iranian as well as
international tourists. Our clients are mostly students,
collage graduate professionals and artist who share love
of nature, physical activity and the exhilaration of
experiencing the beautiful natural sites and the serenity
of remote locations.
It is noteworthy that
a side effect of our tours to the remote regions is the
general rising level of awareness of the local population
of their environment and the economic importance to them
of its proper maintenance.
We are keenly aware
of the impact of our tours on the local inhabitants as
well as the environmental pollution of the sites we visit.
Therefore we go to great lengths to bring to the attention
of the participants the importance of observing and
respecting local customs and the responsible disposal of
their refuse.

adventure to remember:
Farzaneh Nabizadeh
is the Managing Director of Aftab-e Kalout. A
sociologist by training she brings to the organization her
experiences gained in her extensive travels throughout the
country, both while conducting research for her thesis and
later on when doing research work for various sociological
studies. She is responsible for the planning of the
cultural tours and visits to the nomadic tribes.
Hamid Rohani
is the Chairman of the Board. He is responsible for
planning and managing the technical aspects of the tours.
He has gained his expertise and knowledge through his
experiences in climbing a great number of the over 4000
meter peeks in the Alborz and the Zagros mountain ranges.
He is a certified professional receiving his training,
both in Iran and abroad in organizing mountaineering and
hiking tours.
The Tour Leaders
are all professional tour-guides, each well versed at
least in one foreign language. They have each received
extensive training in low-impact travel (from an
environmental and cultural point of view). They are
selected based on their technical abilities as mountain
guides, rock-climbers, ski instructors and technical
abilities in various other activities, in addition to
their commitments and awareness of conservation issues and
sustainable travel.

Aftab-e-Kalout
means the sun of Kalout in Farsi. The Kalouts are a unique and enchanting geological
phenomenon found in the remote and pristine Dasht-e Lout
(Lout Desert) region in the south eastern Iran. The Kalouts are created by water and wind erosion of sand
hills.
